In August 2003 the 9th
Eurologo conference
was held in Porto (Portugal), where Colabs project was introduced by
partners.
Andor Abonyi-Tóth wrote a report about
the conference which can be read in Hungarian on the Sulinet
site.

We also took part in the "traditional" cartoon
competition with works of Zsuzsa Pluhár (Logo in Porto ) and Andor
Abonyi-Tóth (Impressions).
Andor got the 2nd place in the
competition and won a bottle of delicious Porto wine.
We also had the opportunity to do a Colabs workshop, where 10-14 years old Portugese children took part.
1. Mind mapping I.
Their first task was to create a mindmap (on
paper with pen) with the title of "Computer in my world".
To introduce this task we showed them several examples of mindmaps on
diferent topics.

2. Investigating geographical knowledge
Next, we tried to find out the
geographical knowledge of children (and the visitors) by using 3
microworlds:
Flags,
Capitals
and
Destination.

3. Self-expression Picasso style
To find out about children's
creativity we used the
Picasso
microworld where everyone could manipulate their own photo..

4. Picture communication
The next task was
communication using pictures. After looking and interpretting
egamples of self-introduction and a story, children were asked to create
new "talking pictures" and to compose a short story using Telling
you through pictures.

5. Mindmaps II.
The last task was to create
another mindmap, this time about "Colabs workshop" using Mindmap.

After the conference we had Colabs project meeting in Coimbra, where
project partners discussed the results and
further developments.
Besides the conference and the projectmeeting we had some time to
